2018 was an amazing year for Nimble and we are truly humbled and appreciative of our clients, event sponsors, panelists, and supporters. We see great things ahead for Nimble in 2019 but we wanted to take a moment to reflect on some of the highlights from the past year.
Our Business Model Works!
When we founded Nimble, we set out to solve our clients’ toughest problems by bringing together the best people, processes and technology. We believed that a flexible approach could create significant value for our clients and a great working experience for our team. In 2018, we’ve proved this flexibility works. We’ve nearly doubled our client base and our sales while holding our expenses flat. Meanwhile, our teams are doing great work across a variety of industries including legal, manufacturing, insurance and healthcare for clients that range from Fortune 500 companies to startups.
Of course none of this would be possible without our amazing team. In addition to expanding our Legal and HR Expert Networks, we also added a marketing guru to help us get the word out and plan top-notch events. Q4 saw our first ever Expert Network Happy Hour which was tons of fun...and more than a few tacos. We’re still having fun!
We got involved in some really cool engagements in 2018 that showed the breadth of what Nimble can do. Here are just a few examples:
Crane Aerospace and Electronics - Brought together a team of HR, EHS, Operations and Finance to overhaul the process for managing workers’ compensation claims.
Outsourced contract management - Expanded our review/negotiation of contracts like NDAs and service/supply agreements for a fixed fee.
Fractional HR Managers - Embedded HR business partners on a part-time basis supporting clients including law firms, manufacturing companies and non-profits.
HR Services Strategy - Co-designed an approach to allow an insurance company to provide expanded HR services to dozens of their clients.
Professional development for lawyers - Led programs for multiple law firms to teach attorneys how to use Emotional Intelligence to improve their business development skills.
Artificial Intelligence for Contract Review - Connected our first clients with LegalSifter, a software that uses AI to reduce the time it takes to review contracts while improving accuracy.
We thrive on variety and creativity and see no end to the possibilities.
We believe in the power of technology to transform work. We formed some exciting strategic partnerships in 2018 so we can bring these great solutions to our clients:
LegalSifter - We’re a reseller and implementer of artificial intelligence software that helps review contracts faster, more consistently, and with higher quality.
TCDI - We’re a sales channel partner for MatterMaven, an e-billing solution that applies artificial intelligence to legal invoice review and CVLynx, a litigation management tool.
Award Winning Blog Content - From #6 to #1
We won The Expert Institute’s 2018 Best Legal Blog Contest in the Legal Tech Category! Last year we came in sixth place, so THANK YOU to all that voted for us!
Driving Innovation with Nimble Forums
Jeff and Elizabeth love to geek-out about all the possibilities for the legal industry to work smarter. To help spark this innovation, we hosted four Nimble Forums throughout 2018 bringing together the best and brightest to explore the challenges and opportunities.
Building the Modern General Counsel - Thanks so much to Edward Blakemore, Sunny Nixon, and Jason Sussman for providing insight into what it takes to get an in-house lawyer job and what the job is really like.
How Artificial Intelligence will Improve Contract Review - Kevin Miller of LegalSifter and Jeff Barlow discussed the use cases for artificial intelligence software in the contract review process and how to alleviate the pain of contract review.
In the Trenches: Cybersecurity and E-Discovery in Chicago. We took our show on the road and hosted an impressive group of panelists who shared their expertise on how to minimize Cybersecurity threats and E-Discovery best practices. Thanks to all of our panelists:
Legal Industry Pressures and Pricing Strategies proved to be a hit again with all of our attendees. We love this Forum that brings experienced in-house lawyers and law firm partners to discuss key business of law issues and ideas for solutions. Another great group of panelists:
We have no plans to slow down in 2019 - so stay tuned!
